Wildflower Trail

Client:
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Project:
The Wildflower Trail, due to be launched in late Spring 2025, is a nature trail that runs around the perimeter of Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. The trail takes around 30 minutes to walk and leads patients and staff on a beautiful floral adventure around the hospital site, encouraging mindfulness and focus on the wonder of the free and vivacious wildflowers planted by the grounds team.

For this project, I was tasked to plot the wildflower trail around the site, create a trail map and design a suite of 33 individualised signs ranging in size from A0 to A4. The client wanted the trail to feel natural, gentle and inspiring, whilst still maintaining the NHS overall look and feel. To accommodate this request I created a bespoke identity for the trail using only NHS blue and white, featuring wildflowers such as red campions and forget-me-nots in an art nouveau style.

As of March 2025, the signs have been printed and the posts created.
